If you are looking for Skiing activities in Muskoka, then look no further than the Huntsville area where you can find Muskoka’s only downhill skill hill in Hidden Valley and a number of cross country ski trails as well. 

Yes, there are other options for downhill skiing such as Blue Mountain Ski, Horseshoe Valley, Snow Valley, or Mount St. Louis. But none of these are in Muskoka or close to the Muskoka towns of  Huntsville or Bracebridge.

Downhill Skiing at Hidden Valley Ski Hill

The only Ski Resort in Muskoka is Hidden Valley Highlands Ski resort just outside Huntsville and is home to 15 groomed trails, eleven runs, with the longest run clocking in at 580 meters or 1902 feet, a terrain park, as well as night skiing and snowboarding. It’s ideal for people of all skill levels as well as children. They offer ski and snowboarding lessons for adults and kids, along with rentals.

Tickets, Rentals and Ski Lessons:

Lift Tickets, Rentals and Lessons are sold online and it is recommended that you purchase them in advance of your visit. Walk-in Lift Tickets are available, but for Lessons and Rentals please book online, in advance to avoid disappointment. 

Hidden Valley Ski offers Private Lessons that include a complimentary Lesson Lift Ticket for the lesson participant. During the lesson, the Lesson Lift Ticket is valid for all lifts at the discretion of the instructor. Outside of the lesson, the ticket is valid only on the Handle Tow.

If all you require is a lift ticket, it is recommended that you purchase your lift ticket online through their website. You will receive a printout with a barcode that you will present at our ticket counter to redeem for your lift ticket on the day of your visit.  On arrival, you will find the ticket counter on your left as you enter the main area of the upper level.

If you require Rental Equipment, it is highly recommended that you purchase it online and in advance to reserve your gear. The rental shop is located on the lower level of the Chalet.

Day passes are from 9am to 4pm

Adults: $67, Youth: $60, Jr & Sr: $52, Under 12: $16

Afternoon passes from 12 to 4pm:

Adults: $59, Youth: $53, Jr & Sr: $44, Under 12: $16

 

Other Helpful Information

Day Lockers — Based on Availability. Day lockers are available on the top floor of the Chalet adjacent to the ticket counter for $1 (Lockers accept Loonies only). Be aware that these lockers require $1 each time they are locked. 

Trail Maps — Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the universal symbols on the hidden Valley trail map and outdoor signage. Trail maps are available at the Guest Services counter.

Restrooms — Restrooms are located at the back of the lower level and in the centre of the second level. A wheelchair-accessible washroom is located to the left of the main doors on the upper level. Washrooms are also located in the building at the base of the hill beside the Ski Patrol clinic and are open to the general public.

First Aid — If someone is injured, please approach any staff member and have them call for Ski Patrol. The Ski Patrol clinic is located at the base of the hill between the bottom stations of the Iroquois (Red) and Algonquin (Green) Chairlifts.

Cafeteria — Hidden Valley Ski has fully-licensed cafeteria and is located on the second level of the Chalet and is open daily from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm (or until 9:00 pm when night skiing is available).

Cross Country Skiing at Arrowhead Provincial Park

Arrowhead Provincial Park offers 28 km of classic ski trails and 16km of skate ski trails, ranging from beginner to expert level. Arrowhead park is located a few minutes outside of Huntsville.

Cross Country Skiing at Algonquin Provincial Park

Algonquin Park has 85 kilometres of groomed and 32 kilometres of non-groomed cross-country ski trails available in several trail networks. Trails range in degree of difficulty from easy to difficult. Ski trails typically open in December and close in March, but obviously are subject to weather conditions.
